Pam’s post-surgery recovery was hard.

But it gave her the idea to make it easier for others.

In February of 2019, at age 48, Pam was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her surgeons explained the procedures and provided outstanding medical care. During the recovery period following surgery, she reflected on the difficulties facing post-op breast cancer patients and became determined to ease that journey for others.

One of the unpleasantries Pam faced during recovery was managing her post-surgical drains. She found difficulty disguising her drains while attending post-surgical appointments or seeing friends and family. She also found showering with the drains to be cumbersome.

For these reasons, Pam and her closest friend, Gaby Mann, founded bcalmed, a non-profit charity, and developed the bcalmed bag.

It’s their goal to make bcalmed bags free and available to post-breast surgery patients everywhere.

In the future, they plan to produce a bcalmed kit that includes bags, a seat belt cushion, and a Post Op Top.
